, I'm not 100% sure if this is a new product. The box wasn't sealed well and the plastic around the motion detector was worn and water-stained. Maybe someone has already returned. I am sending it back for a refund. I lose one every few years. I've changed four or five in the last 15 years. This is the first I've tried from the Defiant brand. The rest was Hit-Zenith and works until he stops working after 3-7 years. I guess I'll try to find another hit zenith.

I am using this to make my own Halloween motion detector. The trick I've found is to set the power saving mode (soft) otherwise I've noticed the lamps I'm using flicker. I would love it if Defiant could make a motion sensor with a manually adjustable motion timer instead of the fixed 1, 5 and 20 minute settings. The dial would be great if it had 10-30 seconds instead of 1 minute. Tested 270 degree detection and this thing works great for coverage. Will buy more to add more spirit items.

I bought two and both took them back. My electrician groaned when I brought him the Defiants because he had so many problems with them before. One sensor only had an 80° field of view and the other sensor did not turn on the light in any configuration. I bought two Heath Zenith sensors to replace and they have performed flawlessly in all conditions.
