This product wastes TWICE your money and TWICE your time!

I installed this cover on my chimney to create a watertight seal between the chimney and the roof of my Pinzgauer 712. Instead I got smelly burning plastic, no watertight seal and my chimney now looks really stupid. Now I'm going to spend more time uninstalling this stupid thing, buying another download and reinstalling that one. I might as well wrap a plastic garbage bag around the pipe and set it on fire.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Slightly cracked

and it worked great! Very easy to install

This is the only one that can be used to install a chimney through a metal roof and it worked great! Very easy to install. However, since it is silicone, it is not very stiff. So if you cut a slightly larger hole (like I did) for the chimney, it will likely need a clamp to keep it from dangling since the flashing won't keep it in the hole. During installation I used a spray bottle to lightly squirt water on the pipe to make it slide very easily. If you don't, he will push very hard.

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Very easy to install

I installed a new metal roof and didn't know how to get around my chimney without building a very tedious box and half a day of work on it. Also, they will still leak most of the time. I've used small ones like this on other vent pipes so I found this large one that fits my stove pipe. Now I have to say that the price is MUCH overpriced. Still, it was a good idea to just put it on the pipe, add some sealant, screw it on and go. 10 minutes or 3 hours to build a holey box lid.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Fairly good

Used as an oven lifter.

I have used it as a Jack Ozark Ttail teepee tent. Get a spark arrestor. I used super glue to stick it to the hole I made in the wall. I would suggest making a hole after you glue it to the fabric when it's laid flat. Then cut out the hole when the glue has dried. There's no real use for this thing, but it could withstand the heat of a single-walled tent stovepipe, so you're probably okay with that. Let the hose touch the red silicone. It will bubble up as you heat the oven above its normal…

Expensive but effective.

They're pretty expensive, but they work really well. I used one on a penetration next to a problem area on our standing seam (north facing valley) roof. The silicone cone, cut to pipe size, slides firmly over the pipe. The tin ring around the base fits into the roof fairly easily - in my case just above one of the standing seams. A little extra silicone sealant to improve the seal (manufacturer's manual says it's ok but not necessary, I guess it's common sense) and sheet metal screws to attach…

  • Lots of stuff
