Large, reversible, and heavy-duty die-cast aluminum grill and griddle plate with embedded heating element. Ribbed side-Ideal for optimal grilled meats and fish (steaks, chops, hamburgers, sausages, salmon, etc.). (Flat side) Ideal for healthy vegetables cooked on the plate, delicious eggs and bacon, omelets and cheese on the plate. The plate is easy to clean and dishwasher safe. The adjustable thermostat from 200 Degree F (93 Degree C) to 400 Degree F (204 Degree C) and keep warm function, allows maximum precision for cooking.

Not recommended for cookware

Ignore this. The design is what I wanted but the house smells of smoke and grease. Windows had to be opened in December. And it gets a lot hotter at one end while the other end is just over warm. Disappointing.

Disused gas grill in kitchen and dining room

I gave up my gas grill! This little grill cooks burgers, steaks and chops just like my old gas grill. However, I'm not into heat or cold with bugs. Practically no smoke, thanks to a kitchen exhaust fan. Controlled heat. Very easy to clean. The only drawback are splashes. I use an old towel over the stove that works great.

Died 6 months later in a potentially dangerous manner, De'Longhi's warranty requires videotaping.

The grill should be dishwasher safe but the dishwasher probably destroyed it. Immediately after 6 months, the GFCI protection on the sockets began to take effect. A grill with a faulty safety ground is unsafe and can kill you if plugged into a non-GFCI outlet. The galvanized tray under the grate began to rust after being washed in the dishwasher. I chatted with the warranty department, at first they acted like they didn't understand what GFCI is and explained that these were two knobs on aโ€ฆ

DO NOT WASH THE DISHWASHER. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE AT DELONGHI!

Husband loves it and I love that he cooks more often and healthier. PERFECT! ***UPDATE*** 6/12/16 - So we've only had this since April and my husband has loved cooking with it. I hand washed the griddle after each use with no problem. The husband put the grill plate in the dishwasher for the first time two days ago (which according to the packaging and instructions is safe) and now the grill no longer works. When we plug it in and turn it on, it turns off the outlets. I contacted DeLonghiโ€ฆ
