Description of Delphi GN10457 Plug Ignition Coil

Delphi uses winding process techniques to control the length of wire between adjacent windings. That’s important because more length results in greater voltage differences, which in turn create more pressure that could break down the insulation and wire coating. Delphi's ignition coils are engineered to Original Equipment specifications. Delphi's ignition coils are designed with proven materials, such as high quality wires and wire coating that resists the cracks, pin holes and imperfections that most often lead to failure issues. Epoxy vacuum techniques reduce air bubbles in the epoxy, because having fewer air bubbles increases the epoxy's insulation quality and reduces the chances of energy punch-through failures. Delphi's coils are designed and endurance tested to resist the common stresses that cause failure.

Parts to be checked B4 Installation

Fast shipping is the only good thing. I installed and as soon as I was about to put the wiring harness back on I noticed the locking tab on the ignition coil was broken. Instead of sending it back and waiting for a refund and then ordering it again, I secured it with a zip tie. And after 30 days it didn't work, I called the manufacturer, I had to leave a message, never call back. Those looking to buy aren't 100% better off going with the stock ignition and it's well worth the extra money.

Pros
  • Delphi ignition coils are made from proven materials such as high quality wires and wire coatings that resist cracks, punctures and defects that most commonly cause failures
Cons
  • Large and bulky
