You can't imagine - an eyebolt that can't be screwed into wood! This is coming from someone who knows the difference between a hammer and a screwdriver. Check the end of the eyebolt - it's tapered, not threaded. After drilling larger and larger pilot holes, it still didn't stick to the wood or begin to set, and it took some effort to set. I bought these strong eye bolts to hang a hammock for my home and they worked great. They weren't the common ones you would typically find at hardware stores.
