Description of Black Derale 16749 Fan Controller with Adjustable Settings

Adjustable turn-on temperature from 150-240 degree farenheit. Turn-off temperature is preset at 10 degree farenheit below turn-on temperature. Thread in 3/8 inch NPT probe. Heavy duty 40/60 amp relay.

I think 3 stars would be closer to 50/50. .

I think 3 stars would be closer to 50/50. I bought 2 of these, one failed after a month or so, I think the relay failed, I hope that was it and replacing works because those suction cups are expensive.

it had an easy life and built-in relays were never added.

The device failed after two months. I went to my truck and in the morning I heard the fans running and a low battery. The controller must have failed, also it had an easy life added with the built in relays, it didn't even see much power.

Great fan control when installing a new electric radiator fan in place of the old clutch fan.

This fan controller works very well if you install a new electric radiator fan in place of the old clutch fan. I really like the adjustable function with the fan control. You can timely adjust the fan according to the engine temperature, which is very convenient. I installed it on my 1994 Toyota pickup and it works great!

Fitted well, worked as hoped

Fitted well, worked as hoped but the controller failed after only 1.5 years of use on an old Corvette that rarely drives. Technical support was fine, but the warranty is only 1 year and I contacted them about 25 months after the actual purchase date. I believe that the controller should have lasted longer and so far it has not been possible to replace just this part. Looks like I'll be forced to buy the whole set!

Great controller with one exception in my case.

Works great and adjusts to proper fan start temperature. I bought two because I also bought a dual speed Derale fan, thinking it would be better to have two controllers in case one fails. The problem I have is that the fan controller runs on the negative side instead of the positive side so I could only use one controller and ended up with a single speed fan. Luckily I made a custom shroud so all I needed was low speed anyway. Now I have a spare controller in case the other one fails, so I'm…

Very poor design and defective electrical connections. Not!

I bought 2 of these units and the red power cord that powers the unit was literally pulled out of the cord socket when the unit was taken out of the box. I contacted MFG and they sent 2 replacements. Same thing happened, the red power cord was easily unplugged. After a thorough inspection, the remaining control wires were not properly crimped either. I returned both Revain units as defective.
