I found this blanket just like any other wool blanket. It's rough and itchy. I believe it's mainly sheep's wool as it's not as soft as described. There is also a pretty strong smell associated with it that literally turned my stomach. I couldn't sleep under that blanket.

The quilt is thicker than expected, which is good. I sleep much better with it because it keeps my body temperature more stable over a wider range of room temperatures. It has a fairly strong lanolin odor when you first take it out of the container, but it goes away after a few days and doesn't cause any problems.
