Ambient temperature tested from 400 to 1000 degrees Fahrenheit.

Environmental testing was performed at 400 to 1000 degrees Fahrenheit prior to installation on a RV diesel engine. The glue has melted, but the foil hasn't even lost its luster. It's safe around extreme heat.

Pros
  • Easy Installation
Cons
  • I won't tell

Good price for a comfortable item.

Used to replace a rusted and fallen metal heat shield. It sticks to clean/dry metal and plastic but doesn't stick well otherwise. I ended up using tape (shiny with a plastic backing) around the perimeter of the lining to make sure it stayed in place.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • No

Folded, no roll of reflective material!

Product was folded into the packaging in the picture! Based on the photos in the ad I assumed it would be a roll with no creases! The product will work fine, but it's not visually appealing! The list is ambiguous! Sheet folded with folds

Pros
  • Direct thermal protection up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and radiant thermal protection up to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit
Cons
  • Nothing

Works Great: Heat Shields

I placed this on a temporary platter outside of some stair shelves 6" from my backup wood stove and the surface is cool to the touch. Before installation, the shelves got very hot, so I added a barrier. Works amazing. Super sticky and easy to roll out with a squeegee on the rough side of the melamine. No smell!

Pros
  • Adhesive backing with protective film for easy installation; Virtually no gap required
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Thermal film helps reflect thermal radiation

Good product when used within its capabilities. The material is quite flimsy, similar to a disposable aluminum baking pan with very sticky flypaper on the back. You can apply it to surfaces that need to dissipate heat, but DO NOT have it applied directly to the hottest parts of the engine or exhaust system; RADIANT HEAT is deflected and CONTACT HEAT damages many materials, even if the damage is insidious. The material tends to curl when you peel off the adhesive paper to reveal it, so peel offโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Fit: universal fit
Cons
  • I will write later
