It was perfect for the back of my 54 Willys Jeep. I have a Villin jeep and when I bought it it had a back seat. I removed the back seat and found two brackets attached to the floorboards. between them is 24 inches, so I bought this box thinking it would be around 24 inches (based on the description). I bought this case to store a couple of power tools that didn't come with a plastic case. I was worried they might not fit in the plastic tray but I was wrong. It fits easily with my jigsaw, Ryobi angle grinder, Dewalt hammer drill, drill and grinder handles, a set of masonry drill bits in a case and more. I've had this tool box for about half a year now and I'm very happy with it. I work on a ranch and he just sits in the back of a flatbed 24/7 through dusty roads, hot sun, rain and lately snow. Very impressed with the water, the resistance never opened it to find water in it and it was raining quite heavily.
