Purpose not sure

I'm not sure what this hose adapter would be used for but definitely not to connect a DeWalt sander to a standard vacuum hose. I was expecting to connect in my first image, but this item does not connect to any of the devices in my image. This item connects to the same end of the DeWalt DWV9000 universal connector as the grinder (see my second picture). The other end of this item is the same diameter as my 2 1/4" vacuum hose. So it doesn't work for me either.

Works As It Is Designed - Tubing, Fittings & Accessories

Many dissatisfied reviewers seem to be purchasing this item for uses outside of its intended use. It is designed as an adapter to connect the 2-1/4" dust collection fitting on the tool to the smaller Dewalt brand dust extraction hoses. I have a Dewalt 8 gallon vacuum and use it to connect to my Dewalt table saw. He's perfect for that! The 2-1/4" diameter side can come loose or be accidentally knocked out, but I just screwed a small screw into the side panel to attach it to the table saw. The…

Works great after sawing off 3/4 "

As mentioned, this doesn't look like the picture here or on the Dewalt website. The item in the photo clearly does not exist. The tapered end is 2 1/16" long and ends before reaching a large taper on most common applications. If you want to use it for 2.5" OD adapters like this one, Shop-Vac 906-87 -00 Universal Tool Adapter or Shop-Vac 906-87-00 -vac 906-85 Conversion Block 2-1/2" to 1 -1/4" or WORKSHOP Wet/Dry Vac Adapter WS25055A Workshop Wet/ Dry vacuum adapter combo kit, you will need to…

DWV9000 vs 9140 may not meet your needs

The product you have purchased does not match this misleading image. I bought this to attach to my Dewalt DWE6423K grinder on my 5 gallon Craftsman vacuum with 2-1/4" hose. He doesn't even come close. the hose and smooth 1-5/8" fitting on the other end does nothing. The fake image implies that the small end is twisted to attach to the grinder and the hose is pushed tightly into the other end. Oh, but wait, that's not all. I now confirm what I have received but what I ordered is wrong and try to

Perfect fit for DW745 and 1 1/4 " vacuum hose

I have a DW745 portable table saw and an old 6 gallon shop vac that I wanted to use to collect dust while working with the TS Bought one of those "stepped" adapters in HD that fit hose diameters from 1 1/4" to 1 7/8" to 2 1/2"; However, the outside diameter of the adapter was the same as the outside diameter of the dust collector on the saw. I ended up using gorilla tape to connect them. Then every time I wanted to use the Shop-Vac somewhere else I had to remove the tape, which aged quickly…

Lots of confusion but nothing new for this kind of thing

See I see. The actual piece does not match the photo here on Revain or on DeWalt's own website. It's stupid, it's true. But honestly, is it different from anything else in the field of dust collection? The time I've spent trying to find the right fittings/adapters/hoses/clamps/couplings/whatever just to get wood dust through a pipe is absurdly ridiculous. It seems that even if you know the exact ID/OD of everything, you still have to take multiple paths to the store or return to Revain. In my…
