Excellent bread knife for your money. I've gotten both recommendations from serious eaters, while I love Japanese for bread and many other things (it's probably my favorite), it's excellent for harder work. Less blade flex, ideal for slicing turkey or beef with ease, also ideal for tomatoes and berries. The price is low enough to throw it away and buy another when it dulls, unless you plan on sharpening it yourself, which shouldn't be the case for years.

I started baking bread (like half the world did) last year and we had no idea how hard it was to use our old knife. Once my husband cut himself I said enough - I will buy a new knife and have seen a review on this one and the price was reasonable. I CAN'T TELL YOU THE DIFFERENCE! With this knife we can effortlessly cut thin, perfect slices without filing the bottom of the loaf, and even the top of crusty bread cuts like a charm without squeezing. 100% satisfied!
