Was a bit tight when installed. Not too tight to cause problems or break anything, just very comfortable. Just what I needed to add 2TB of storage to my laptop. Who needs a DVD drive anymore?

Fits perfectly in my HP Pavilion 17-ar050wm. The DVD front cover is easy to remove from the original DVD drive and snaps easily into the drive housing. DVD drives/burners are useless these days, it's nice to have a 1TB OEM HDD instead of extra storage (I replaced the original 1TB HDD with a 500GB SSD). The salesman was very helpful in answering my questions about the drive car.

. It holds the HDD/SSD by pressure from the threaded studs on the sides of the drive, not in the threaded holes with the drive's mounting screws. Instructions are limited; It doesn't mean you have to use a bracket from your optical drive to attach it (you will), and the optical drive bezel most likely won't fit (could cause airflow issues). Bottom line I'd say it's fine if the computer is primarily stationary, but would find a better solution if you carry it around.
