This is very useful when your vehicle's OBD II port is too close.

This is very useful when your car's OBD II port is too close to the driver's footwell. With this extension you can leave your OBD device installed without disturbing it. You don't want anything getting in your legs or getting in the way when you're peddling, nor do you want to disable the OBD-II ports because you've kicked your device too many times.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No form required

Very flexible best in tools and equipment

Very flexible cable. I wanted to fit a large OBD device that was interfering with the driving position and needed an extension to move it to the side. Tried another cable with a straight connector and a heavy duty cable - almost as bad as the unit itself. The cable was hanging just above the brake pedal. With this extension, it's easy to position the device exactly where I want it and to neatly route the cable out of the way. Use on Nissan Leaf.

ideal for drivers

This is a great cable for easy access to the OBD2 connector or for installing a sensor for permanent use that can be removed from the road. The cable is long enough to run most places on the dashboard or on the outside or passenger seat of a car. There really isn't much of a problem with the cable unless it comes up, which didn't happen with mine, it's ok. Highly recommend a short right angle compared to a standard extension cord, many cars have an OBD2 connector right at their feet when…

Plugged straight into my truck

This is a nicely designed (external) OBD 2 port expander. It plugged directly into my 2014 RAM 1500 diesel port. Please note that with the direction of the RAM port and the direction of this cable at right angles, the cable faces up towards the driver and requires a return to itself to return under the dash. Too much snow outside to poke around in, but I'll see if my RAM's OBD2 connector can be rotated 180 degrees so the cable faces down. This isn't a problem unless you're super picky about…

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful

US federal law requires an OBD2 connector to be readily accessible to the driver. You are joking. Audi places it low inboard above the brake pedal, while Mitsubishi Eclipse places it above the accelerator pedal. You can touch it, but you can't see it. You can drive your car until one day you fail the emissions test because the OBD2 connector is damaged beyond repair. Replacing the port is expensive, but this extension lets you move it to an easy-to-access location, and if it gets damaged, a…
