I turned it on in the bathroom (not included) to save energy. However, it does NOT heat up to shower temperature as quickly as advertised. Unless you use cold water and shower 80*F for 5 minutes or less because you will run out of hot water FAST! 1 star deducted for somewhat inaccurate information. It takes about 1-2 hours to fully heat up, but what can you expect from a 400w bar that you can easily power from a generator? I'm happy with them. Appropriately suitable. : > )

Great buy, hot water to wash dishes and hot showers anytime without propane. We didn't have to wait that long to buy a hot rod. Installation went well, instructions were good, took over two hours but I had to flush the tank, find the tools and take care of the baby. Large sockets are required to remove the anode and install the element. 1-1/16 for removing suburban anode and 1-3/16 for installing hot rods. Great product so far. A few comments: I have a 16 gallon suburban water heater. It takes about 2 hours to bring it from ambient to 128F. We just leave it on unless we are away for more than 4 days. I used household 14/3 cords for power and put backlit connectors on both ends. First I connected a switchable plug (from Home Depot about 5 CAD) so I could easily turn the power on and off.
