Too narrow for my needs

This buff has a good finish for rubbing paste and is good enough for the polish I tried. It was too tight for me, about 5/8" X 6", and the center hole wasn't 1/2". I had to make my own bushings to fit my 1/2" shank. I ordered two more wheels from other vendors hoping to get a wheel wide enough for my application.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Excellent Product.: Finishing Materials

Many years ago I put two of these discs on an electric grinder and turned them into a buffer. I removed the grinder guards so I could easily access both the sides of the buffing wheels and the surface. I have been using this type of polishing pad for many years. From steel to brass to copper, they all polish beautifully. I leave one wheel pretty rough and messy for course materials and the other for cleaner or more valuable stuff.

Poor quality control

It's ok but not quite the quality I was hoping for. I use it to polish the caps of some stainless button screws. So far it has worked well in combination with the green stainless steel connection. There are 2 problems with this wheel: First, the outer seam starts to unravel after about 10 minutes of use. To stop this, I smeared some superglue on the loose orange threads. This seems to have fixed the problem for the time being. Second, the 2 adapter plates for the 1/2" mandrel didn't fit, those…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Poor instructions
