I was hesitant but glad I bought

I was very hesitant to purchase this due to the dance values displayed during fermentation. What's the purpose of data points if they're imprecise, right? Well I'm very glad I made the purchase. I no longer have to go down to the basement to check on the bubbling airlock. I just open my phone and look. The app is terrible so I used a spare Pi Zero WI that was laying around and installed Tiltpi. The Pi's image is a bit clunky and requires some manual intervention to get things like the time zone

Pros
  • . Instantly check the specific gravity and temperature of your drink as it ferments.
Cons
  • Style 90

Continuous Sanitary Fermentation Data

Advantages: The start and end of fermentation can be easily recognized without sampling. Almost continuous information. The Google Sheet hosted site is already set up and easy to use. Cons: Requires a dedicated smart device in always-on mode for continuous reading. in short - the smart device has to be almost in the fermenter to get a reading. Can't communicate through all fermentation chambers (My phone must be in the fridge, some cones don't work with it). Requires multi-point calibration to…

Pros
  • Ability to write data to the cloud using our free Google Sheets template or other 3rd party cloud platforms.
Cons
  • boring packaging

I liked them so much I had to buy another one right away!

I love these things! It's like finally having a baby monitor for your newborn. I only had one, but once I started fermenting two batches at once, I just couldn't handle it. With my old hydrometer I felt like I was in the Stone Age. Not to mention the precious beer you spend testing. Setup isn't obvious and the included manual is pretty much useless. But with a little Google and YouTube you'll be up and running in 5-10 minutes. No, it does not connect to your internet for automatic updates. It…

Great Hydrometer/Thermometer, a FYI About Registration

I really like this hydrometer/thermometer. This has already helped me find the correct water addition after boiling my home made beer and I love that I can toss it in the fermenter and easily check it from my phone in their app. It's nifty, and there are plenty of third-party programs that can track your fermentation over time and help incorporate it into your brew recipes. They are also starting to work with professional brewers and have some cool toys on their website if you really want to…
