Terrible product. The instructions were completely wrong and incomprehensible. The orange thread wasn't even enough to complete the fox. waste of time! My daughter was so disappointed.

After reading all the reviews on this product and how convenient it is for all children I feel like an idiot. I had never done cross stitch before and was hoping this would teach me. However, the instructions aren't explicit, they basically just say "thread the needle and look at the picture." It also says to use 3 threads at a time, making it difficult to get a thin needle through the hole to pull. Do your savvy kids do video tutorials?

This is a good set for those learning cross stitch. It's not super fancy, but the stuff is at least decent quality and you can probably make/show something after you're done. This, like all cross stitches, takes longer than expected, but teaches you basic stitching and how to create lines. You will also learn how to read the pattern.
