Very colourful. Remember that you have to mix half of the colors used. Also, the printed numbers are so dark and the ink is so thin and pigment free that it takes 3-4 layers of ink to cover the printed numbers/letters. It is a challenge.

Excellent coloring by numbers. I really like the thickness of the cardboard. The brush that came with it was good (taped to the back of the canvas). The paint only needed two coats to cover and wasn't clumpy or drying out like some of the others I've tried. I added a few drops of water to a few to get the consistency I wanted.

I really enjoyed drawing this. The directions were informative and clear. A copy of the image of the painting was included, showing the location of all the numbers, as well as a number-letter key for mixing colors. I found it very helpful. One tip is to make sure the numbers don't show through the paint. Before starting work, apply a thin coat of white paint to the entire panel.

The finished product had beautiful blue and purple tones. I liked mixing colors as they create color variations. If you've never worked with blending before, this is a good opportunity to try it out, since you don't have to worry about getting the "right" color. I framed this picture with a light blue rustic frame from Michael and hung it where needed a blue accent. It was a lot easier to do than some canvas art!

I started painting by numbers because I have the artistic skills of a two year old, so PBN kits are great for people like me. I wasn't sure about this set. First, because I'm used to big screens. It's smaller and on a much thinner material (and mounted on a rigid board), almost like painting on silk canvas, giving a completely different feel. This was a fun paint by number kit with a great end result. A bit tricky as there are 12 colors in the set and some of them need to be mixed in equal parts to get 16 new colors! The paint dries quickly (which can be a good thing if you're impatient like me and want to avoid smudging)! Working with mixed paints, using a wet brush or adding some water to the mixed paint can buy you time as it dries out (I mixed my paints on a disposable plate with a small spatula). I can't understand all the 5 star reviews for this paint set! Bought this brand because of all the great reviews - but the color is just awful! Even the darkest colors will not block the print on the board. I did 2 or 3 layers to cover the numbers and lines which makes the overall look terrible with lots of watery brush strokes.
