On the one hand it works exactly as advertised and works well. Has a long (unfortunately thin) wire that allows for more installation flexibility. On the other hand, I had to supplement the inner magnet with a pair of neodymium round magnets which I super-glued onto the device and then spray-taped with tape to protect and hide (see photo on the left side of the tailgate).
