I needed this cutter to install SWIM in my RV. DirecTV insisted that I had bad cables and needed a specialist, trying to explain to them that that wasn't the problem. Needless to say I was right and DirecTV was wrong and I had to buy this unit to restore my system after replacing my non-SWIM system with this one.

Purchased to fix a possible problem I was having with my satellite system rather than spending double the monthly maintenance cost just to check it. For this low price for a splitter; It was worth it but didn't solve my problem. It works correctly. I wish my service provider would work too!

This is a well built DirecTV branded splitter with rubber grommets, plug and mounting screws. I was able to easily add another receiver to the SWiM system without connecting the coax cable to the dish. Signal levels stayed high and reliability was maintained. I've used them many times and haven't had any problems so far.

I installed a Winegard LNA-200 Boost XT Digital HDTV preamp on the antenna. I needed a DC path to power the preamp through a two-way splitter. This splitter allows DC power through one leg but not the other, which is required for the preamp to operate. Now I get a good signal on both TVs. With the addition of LNA Boost I have about 14 more channels than before (6 religious, 2 household, 3 spanish and 3 watch channels).

We decided to install a TV in our daughter's room, but we only needed a splitter. My husband bought one from a local shop and hooked it up, but we couldn't get all the channels to work. Excellent splitter. At first I used the BAMF splitter instead because it looked more impressive. I ended up using this one as the BAMF had a failed OUTPUT pin and I figured if this splitter is good enough for hundreds of thousands of DirecTV installations it should work for my antenna configuration. I needed a DC feed through splitter because I have a preamp with antenna mounted on the roof and the splitter is in the attic and I wanted to keep the power supply in my garage. This worked great…
