Highly recommended for anyone who wants cheap CO2

I bought this for my 55g aquarium with lots of plants and it works amazing. I use 2 2 liter bottles of soda with 1 tablespoon of yeast and 1 cup of sugar for my mix. I can get very good production from this combination at around 3 basis points for around 7 days. I don't have algae and the plants love it!

Needle valve lasted 3 days

In general, the set is very good and allows a simple construction of a carbon dioxide reactor. The only problem I have is the needle valve. Right out of the box I had problems where the valve didn't work all the time even though the pressure in the reactor stayed the same. I set it to a few bubbles per second, and after a few minutes it was either bubbling or not releasing any bubbles at all. This went on for several days until it finally broke yesterday. I went to reduce the bubbles and no…

Almost killed my fish.

This product is well made except for the valve. The instructions were followed and the correct proportions entered into the system. The system worked for 10-12 hours and then I turned it off for the night. Knowing I can't turn it on in the morning because I have to work, I left it off. I got home a few hours later and CO2 was pouring out of the diffuser. I ripped out the tubing and checked to see if the needle valve was open. It was of course sealed and CO2 was pouring into my tank. i have a…

Great product. If you're reading this, you know how much "normal" CO2 systems cost. My plan is to use it while fully growing my carpet plants. Once they get where I want them, I will wean them off CO2 and eventually turn the system off completely. I don't want all the devices to be there. So this was the perfect solution for me. I have it in a 75 gallon tank with a relatively small diffuser. I use an inexpensive powerhead to move CO2 through a tank and it works great! My only advice is to watch

1 level for plants C02

1 level for plants growth. Can easily last a month. 1 cup of water is 235ml, so 3/4 cup is about 200ml. If you have a scale I suggest using it for the dry weight of citric acid and baking soda. I double ml and gram so the chemical reaction takes longer. You just have to change every 28 days. We leave it at the 2-3 bp level. I don't turn it off at night, but I have an air pump that shuts off so I don't gas the fish. If I leave it on, when my light comes on, the air turns off and the light comes…

Simple do-it-yourself CO2 production cheap! Great for lovers!

Especially for the price this is a way for someone to try CO2 (Do It Yourself) to create carbon dioxide for the aquarium. The amount it can produce is limited, but the pressure is still enough for more sophisticated DIY systems. I bought citric acid in bulk - 5 pounds and sodium bicarbonate also in bulk, 10 pounds. The ratio of citric acid to sodium bicarbonate you use is the same, but I bought more baking soda due to the lower unit price of the big bag and figured I could use the extra amount…

If you don't have success at first read the instructions

I've had this for a while now so I'll post an update if my mind changes but for now I'm enjoying my DIY CO2 setup. I use anhydrous citric acid and baking soda. The recipe I used is the following: 1.75 cups of citric acid to 5 cups of water in Bottle A, and 1.5 cups of baking soda to 2 cups of water in Bottle B. When you start mixing, you may need to use Bottle B shake a little after squeezing out some of the solution. there from Bottle A, but that's in the instructions. The recipe he came with…
