Great kit - Add some money for tapons when installing on a brick wall

Great kit. I used Tapcon screws to screw the brackets to the brick wall. This took about an hour as drilling pilot holes in masonry takes time. Measure twice (or more) once drilled. It doesn't come with instructions.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • write later

Very happy with this purchase

I have a very old house with plaster walls. Dowels and screws fastened the railing well. It is very durable and feels solid when going up and down. I recently fell and I'm already uncomfortable going up/down the stairs without a railing. I feel much calmer with these railings. The price was good too.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Some issues

Thin thickness, short thread length. Surface rust in pipes

The title says it all. Bought 11 feet, $70. It is in order. No instructions but pretty easy to understand. The hose was very thin, if something goes in right it will be damaged. The threads were short and low, if anything gets into the tailpipe it will likely come loose. Surface rust was also found in all of the tubes and the packaging was the worst.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Slightly dented

Very well done on building materials

Looks fantastic! So impressed with it, especially for the price. We removed our bulky wood/brass railing and replaced it with this piece. We actually ran it a little differently (parallel to our attic above our stairs) since we live in a tiny house. It's very strong and strong when screwed into the lugs and looks a lot better. It gives us the security we need with the aesthetic we wanted.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Disappear

Quick installation, durable, great looks

The handrail arrived today and I am happy with the result. Installation took two people about 30 minutes (no instructions given). The screws that came with the kit are too short to really bite into the studs (which is why I'm giving four stars instead of five), so we used our own longer ones and threw away the drywall anchors. It's heavy and I love the industrial feel that comes with the top loft.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Nothing here

Not for drywall - railing

This product is made of galvanized iron and parts are available at your local hardware store. This may be fine for solid brick walls, but for drywall you need the flexibility to place supports, but since it's just pieces of iron bolted together with connectors that are also supports (T-connectors are used). They only have specific spots (2 feet or 3 "iron pipes") and they even send you plastic anchors as they know you probably won't be able to install the studs. A The ladder stile is only…

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
