Affordable people

The product looked exactly like the advertised picture but in a sealed anti-static package. Since I don't have the documentation and DIYmall can't respond in a timely manner, I need to review my next steps. Was looking for a replacement for my Pharos receiver which did the job (but now takes almost 20 minutes to sync). I found the documentation I needed from a supplier in Shenzhen! :) Also, I found the UBLOX documentation that came with it and I'm a happy hobbyist now.

It works perfectly and seems very accurate

This device worked right out of the box and stably finds 9 satellites. Especially when stationary, longitude and latitude are very constant. The first run took a few minutes before the green light started flashing and reading data, but after that the alert loads in less than 10 seconds. I'm using the TinyGPS library and the code worked fine on my Teensy 3.2. I've used other cheaper GPS modules and the cheaper ones tend to find half the satellite. I recommend this device and will buy more.

Quick-Fix satellite, with red LED power indicator, resists vibration.

Well, Revine added "Write your own review" to my previous review in this block. I do not know why. If I write this new review now, will my previous review be deleted? Anyway, I still like this device. I've always tested indoors near a window and have never had any problems with satellite acquisition. The power indicator is an important and useful feature. I had to subject this device to strong vibrations, which did not cause any problems. This block is used to calculate the GPS speed value for…

Good GPS! on GPS, finders and accessories

This is a good little GPS module. The item arrived well packaged and in good condition. The board is actually GY-GPS6mV1 and the chip is UBlox Neo-6M. What I liked about this GPS module is that it supports something called WAAS, Wide Area Augmentation System. Therefore, off-the-shelf GPS is not very accurate. Specific readings may vary by several meters. The use of WAAS is intended to improve accuracy. And the best part is that it's fully customizable. You can set it up using U-Center software…

Not as easy as they boast.

2nd update: CircuitPython can be used to read NMEA sentences with NEO-6M. which is nice. But if you want to do more, you'll have to code more to do it. This seems to put me in a <1m position when I'm in the Great Plains of Kansas and a 2-3m position when I'm in western Washington. What, I'm sure, could be done better than with a slightly more open sky, like in a park? I really like this module with CircuitPython. But trying to use Ublox for customization and control is a nightmare. I've…

Serial output compatible with 3.3V TTL.

This is my preliminary 5 star rating. Like everyone who buys these modules, I am a layman or experimenter. My hobby is amateur radio (also called ham radio). I am planning to use it to send GPS data to my Kenwood TM-D700A radio for APRS usage. Although Kenwood's technical documentation is sparse, I've read elsewhere that these radios require RS-232 signal levels. This module provides 3.3V TTL-compatible serial data signals. 3.3V is sometimes referred to as CMOS level, although this is not…
