My beagle is long and skinny (like a dachshund) so I needed a jacket that would cover him lengthwise but not be too big in the chest. I also needed access to the front seat belt anchorage. This jacket is perfect for my toffee. it was easy and quick to put on and she didn't seem to mind that it was beautiful. This protected her back from light rain and kept her stomach dry in the grass. Plus she looks adorable in it. The velcro is adjustable and she seemed very comfortable with it. I highly recommend it if you have a dachshund and want their entire back covered. I really do realize that this coat was designed by someone who not only has a dog of their own but has probably tried all sorts of jacket options before finding the perfect design. . The length is amazing. I love that it is fully adjustable in both the chest and neck. My only wish is that the belly and back closures are quick release rather than velcro. Django's customer service was great, they added a personal touch that you just don't see often these days. I ordered a medium which turned out to be too big. This jacket is great. It's constructed differently than most jackets, with a central panel that attaches to drawcords at the waist. This keeps the dog's neck, chest and stomach closed and therefore clean in bad weather.
