Disappointing performance of sharpening tool

As a hesitant buyer in the Industrial and Scientific field, I was excited to try out this Finishing Product for my stainless steel knives. As a result of my tests, I determined that the product did not live up to its claims of superior sharpening ability. While it was easy to use, the lack of sharpening power and durability was a major letdown. I cannot recommend this Abrasive & Finishing Product for those seeking a reliable sharpener.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Poor sharpening ability and durability

Should last a lifetime.

What I like about these stones is that they are flat and stay that way. When first used, the stone looks quite aggressive. It just needs to be used for a while. If you break it with kitchen knives, let other people in the house know so they aren't surprised that normally blunt knives are actually sharp.

Pros
  • Hand Tools
Cons
  • Crumpled Packaging

What a beast! good for hand tools

Aggressively removes material for 325 grit like you would expect from a diamond. The surface finish is pretty crappy as you would expect from a smooth coated diamond. My 150 grit Venev resin bonded diamond gives a better surface finish than this one. I love the huge surface, so much space to move in any direction. I also slightly lapped some of the other stones, breaking the original rough surface of this type of slab. In general very satisfied.

Pros
  • Power tools and hand tools
Cons
  • Can't remember
