Great strength! good for me

Great strength but already starting to rust from weather, needs to be more weather resistant as its q dog tie out cable? Shouldn't it be made to leave outside?

Pros
  • No issues, great purchase
Cons
  • The stake may get stuck in rocks or hard soil, making it difficult to move

Maybe Their idea of rust proof and rust proof are different

Bought 2 of these tie outs and the clips on the end are both starting to rust. Starting to get tougher to open the clips. Have had them for roughly 6 weeks. Funny enough, just past the window to return them. NEVER AGAIN !

Pros
  • Great product just as advertised
Cons
  • The cable may not be strong enough to withstand the weight of larger dogs

Excellent durable product!

Love the sturdy, weather-resistant quality and construction of this product. Durable for my Aussies so far! Love the long lengths so they can run all over my open yard, but kept safe during subdivision construction or neighbors parties!

Pros
  • my old one finally snapped so I upgraded to a longer lead for my dog to be outside, its perfect.
Cons
  • This product is ok but the clasp is not too sturdy.

Out 60 lb dog kept chewing her rope in two. She can't chew this one! Shipping was fast, the product is perfect and not damaged. We will use again.

Pros
  • No
Cons
  • It worked great for a while but it did eventually break.

Lasted 8 months good for me

Update 2: the leash lasted 8 months before the wire rusted through and the leash snapped. Lowering review to 3 stars.Update: It has been a couple months and already the plastic coating has cracked and I can see the wire is beginning to rust. Definitely not lasting as long as I would like.Original:Seems like a serviceable lead. The wire is fully coated in plastic and seems to be attached well to the clips. The spring feels sturdy, not too springy but not too firm either.

Pros
  • Love iy
Cons
  • The cable may fray and become damaged, creating a risk of injury for your dog

Perfect for 100lb lab!

My dog is not happy with this but it keeps him from wandering off when he goes outside. I'm impressed with how sturdy it is, definitely well made.

Pros
  • Worked great except my neurotic dog is afraid of it.
Cons
  • The spring is not strong enough to hold back larger and more active dogs

Not effective enough

The main reason I was interested in this model does not satisfy. The spring tension is too high and does not travel long enough. On a lighter dog the cushion effect would probably not even be noticed, and on a heavier dog the distance the spring travels would end pretty quickly. When I pull on it myself, I have trouble even feeling the spring working. There at least needs to be 2 springs on this product but even then I'm afraid the tension would tighten up too soon to stop potential injury…

Pros
  • Very sturdy design, great price for this product
Cons
  • The cable may not be strong enough to hold back aggressive dogs

Doesn’t last. for my opinion

Lasted about a month before having to take out of use. Cracks appeared almost immediately in the plastic cover. They became so numerous that I cut my hand taking the dog off it once. It soon became both unsafe and unusable. Not with the money.

Pros
  • Item was as described. Perfect for my Labrador. Would highly recommend
Cons
  • The cable may get twisted and tangled, making it difficult to use
