After I put it to the test, I found that this ceramic filter media was not effective at all. It did not provide adequate filtration and caused the water to become cloudy. The only positive aspect was that it was easy to install. However, the cons far outweigh the pros. I would not recommend this product.

I can only assume it does what it says on the tin to house my beneficial bacteria. I've kept it in my reef tank's sump for about 6 months and it's still intact and I've had no side effects from adding it.

They are very strong and powerful but in a good way. They are very porous but not brittle. They keep their shape and don't crumble. I love how flat they really are. I put them together and use them to raise the skimmer in my sump. Great stand and also functional. I will recommend and buy again.
