Better OEM! for parts

I put this on a 2009 BMW 335i with comfort access. Fits easily and is much quieter than the OEM lock motor. Don't waste an outrageous OEM price when it works just as well.

Pros
  • handy thing
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Not threaded! for motors

The holes are NOT threaded! I had to buy self tapping screws (which don't sit flush). I don't understand why it isn't compatible with existing screws or why new screws aren't included. I gave it 2 stars because once installed it actually works (although it doesn't appear to be as strong as the original drive and if it fails it will be difficult to remove).

Pros
  • Free for training purposes
Cons
  • Discontinued model

Not compatible with all systems

The locking system is crazy. The main dashboard lock button is disabled. Locked me out of the car twice with the engine running, I had to use the bar on the sunroof switch to get in. Unpredictable and inconsistent system behavior with every trip. Replaced by the old OEM model from the same year, now everything is perfect. The seller will only offer a replacement that is of no use to you if it is incompatible with your model year system version.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Little things

Great item, great quality!

Great product! Actually quieter than the original BMW OEM! Not easy to replace, but that's BMW's fault! Remember that the 3 main screw holes don't have "grooves" for the screws, but if you screw them into the part, remove them before inserting the part into the door, it will be easier! I saved a lot of money by making it myself! Make sure to research You Tube to make it easier for you! Very happy with my purchase!

Great price and relatively easy installation.

This unit arrived quickly and was relatively easy to install. The original driver's door actuator stopped working after almost 9 years and 100,000 miles. Take your time removing the door panel, once you've removed it there are three screws and a few other snap components to remove. The whole process took about 20 minutes from start to finish. I can't say anything about the durability, but it looked exactly like the removed original. The device was installed in a 2010 BMW 550i.

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • I won't say anything

The holes are not sewn! But standard bmw screws are self tapping screws.

The holes are not cut and it was driving me insane, common sense tells me not to try and screw the screws in anyway but. After much research, none of the others have threads because the screws on the car are self-tapping. They don't look alike, but if you look closely at your BMW bolts, they have a triangular tip. I screwed them in before installing them in the door and I think he drilled the holes perfectly. Installation was easy. I literally wanted to return this but then realized all the…

Good enough so far

Exact copy of OEM version. The metal screw holes aren't pre-threaded, which bothers me, but the OEM version from BMW is unthreaded as well. While the old version I removed seemed to be of higher quality, it has a long stroke to open the door, while the new design has a short stroke. This is a great recreation of the original design. Now I don't know how well the door stays closed in a crash. It is possible for the OEM version to keep the door closed on impact, but this version leaves the door…

Pros
  • Very good value
Cons
  • Some issues

They differ from the original design but work and are CHEAP. As long as they burn the car down to the ground I have no problem replacing them. Quick top, remember to deactivate the child safety locks before closing the door. ONLY if you hook the outside handle incorrectly. You have to rip out the seats to fix it, ask me how I know πŸ˜‹. Edit: The rear drive has failed, the spring is not strong enough to reset the trap quickly. I will get my money back and try again. QXTinc (seller) did not help…
