Good fit and seal: Engines and engine parts

Perfect fit. The sump was damaged and the rear line was leaking. Decided to replace the entire pan just in case. Good quality and fit.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Problems

LOOKS THAT IT DOES THE JOB

It's not as thick as the original skillet. However, metallurgy has evolved over the years and you can get strong alloys from thinner compositions and still be fine. The fit, seal and capacity were great. I highly doubt he will have any problems.

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • I'll be silent

Leak is good for me for parts

Always had good luck with Dorman parts but this oil pan didn't work well with the Fel-Pro OS34308R oil pan gasket kit for me. The oil pan is not level and not sealed. Even with RTV I get at least 3 drops a day. This oil pan also has no internal baffle as an OEM oil pan. So if you are going uphill/downhill off-road, you should probably use an OEM sump.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Stable pan, fits like a glove!

I ordered a Dorman pan and a Spectra pan to replace the dented OEM pan. This Taiwan made Dorman block fits like a glove. Square and flush on the block and all holes lined up perfectly. 16ga steel, like the original. I removed the baffle from my old pot and welded it to this unit. A few strategic ball hits to clean out Melling's high volume oil pump on my 4.6 stroker. Closed, done!

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Empty

ONLY for traffic!

This oil pan will fit the JEEP 4.0L engine -- BUT as it DOES NOT have a side pan/oil deflector like the Original Equipment MOPAR oil pan, it is NOT a replacement oil pan for JEP engines. "4WD" or other off-road use. The OEM 'factory' oil pan has an oil baffle which prevents oil starvation on steep slopes - the DORMAN oil pan does NOT have this baffle and should NOT be used off-road! For road/highway use, this pallet is ideal as a cheap replacement for the original pallet. To ensure a good seal,
