Dorman 598 115 EGR Tube Review

Doorman usually has great products but this one didn't fit as expected. Couldn't even get it to work. Very disappointed that I wasn't able to return as the return window was too short. Reconsider return periods for unsuitable parts ordered online.

Don't think you can just screw it in to replace the stock tube. I had to use a MAPP torch to heat the top of the cherry red pipe and bend it 1/2" to align the top clasp with the EGR valve threads. However, after installation, my truck went QUIET again.

Great price, works as it should. I ordered this part with Dorman distributors and SS distributor bolts for my 2002 Ford F150 4x4 5.4L SuperCrew. It is recommended to replace the EGR pipe when replacing the elbows as it is right there. I even saved a few bucks by ordering from Revain (Rockauto) instead. Rockauto at the com is a great site for saving money on parts, but this time Revain topped it.

This is a solid piece of steel which made it fit for the task. It wasn't folded properly and I fiddled with it for too long to fit. I should have just put it under the blue key, that would have been a lot easier. Once I've lined it up and tightened it up, I doubt there'll ever be a reason to revisit it. Scratches, sweat and spiced words made him fit.

It's not that hard to bend the pipe. Welding two pieces of metal is not that difficult. It really isn't. Next time I'll probably do it myself because I think I can do better than the amateur work that goes into it. The welds just look awful. Like someone just held the welder there and let go while they went to the bathroom or something. Slag and popcorn everywhere. The shape of the tube doesn't quite match the original and it took a lot of bending to make it fit. Everything looks right at first
