Easy to Install Electric Door Lock

My 91 Bronco didn't switch to 4x4. I only heard a few clicks from the passenger side when I pushed the 4x4 button on the dash. Motor failures in the transfer case are quite common, and this is an easy and relatively inexpensive job that you can do yourself. You'll need a small screwdriver, or better yet, a set of picks, to remove a few pins from the connector on the old transfer case motor and swap out the wires from the new one. A piece of cake.

Worked like clockwork

The transfer case motor for my 1995 Ford F150 Supercab 4x4 arrived quickly and took about half an hour to replace. I had to transfer 3 wires from the old wiring harness to the new one, which was easy. Lots of YouTube videos to watch the tutorial. The tools needed were a 10mm socket/ratchet, needle nose pliers and a very small flathead screwdriver to hold the retaining clips on the harness socket to allow 3 wires to be installed into the new harness socket. My 4WD now works as it should. I am…

To remove the wires you need to remove the red piece in the middle of the connector. This will fix the pins. Once removed, use a small flathead screwdriver or pickaxe to move the pin locking tab by gently pulling on the wire. Note or photograph the wires before removing them so you don't mix up the…

got the job done

My 1993 Ford Bronco XLT would not go into 4WD. When I pushed the electronic button to engage the four-wheel drive, all I could hear was a click from behind the passenger-side dash. I climbed under the truck, tapped the driveway with a rubber mallet, and tried to dislodge it, but to no avail. I tried the 4WD button again and this time it was a series of 4-5 clicks behind the passenger dash. I replaced the old actuator with this Dorman and so far so good. Installation is easy - unscrew the 4…
