🚗 Dorman Windshield Wiper Transmission 602-215 Review

This wiper transmission is a nightmare. It may seem like a good replacement part at first, but it's poorly made and doesn't last long. The installation process is also difficult and time-consuming.

I bought this wiper gear to replace an old broken one on my used 2001 Chevy Silverado 1500 LS (5.3L). While the actual connections appear solid, the threads on the struts connecting the wipers come loose easily. I used a die to rethread both pins and both have been cleaned TWICE, even with more washers to prevent the nut from going too far into the threads. I've come to the conclusion that the metal used for the pins is very weak because the threads break so easily. I do not recommend this…

I have purchased this product TWICE from O'Reilly Auto Parts and Autozone. This will NOT fit the 2001 Chevy Tahoe LT, contrary to what was advertised. The 602-215 transmission sits too high in the bay, causing the engine to sit too high so that the windshield cover no longer touches the windshield. . Also, you can see the motor moving the windshield cover up and down and trying to turn the gearbox left and right because it doesn't fit properly. I just bought a replacement from 1A Auto which…
