Terrible product, do not buy this item

This brand is used for a quality replacement but no more. The screw holes are in the wrong place. The plug connection is on the opposite factory side. The hose notches are also different from the factory ones, causing the hoses to become severely stuck. Do not buy this item

Pros
  • Direct replacement - this engine coolant tank is the same size and function as the original part
Cons
  • Not bad but...

Worked great on my 2006 Beetle Convertible, 2.5

On my 2006 Beetle Convertible a return line came loose and squirted coolant everywhere preventing the car from moving, the original coolant reservoir fluid was yellowed and brittle After 13 years and 185,000km, ordered at 8pm, delivered next day at 3pm. Installing and topping up the coolant took about 20 minutes, there are some good YouTube videos showing the process. I'm wary of some Dorman products but this one seems to be of very high quality. Five stars.

Pros
  • Perfect solution - engineered to fit seamlessly
Cons
  • Expensive

Good product just not for my car.

My VW Beetle 2000 had a slightly shorter downpipe than the OEM part I replaced. The manual said to leave the old canister lid for the new canister, but it arrived with its own lid, which is great. The Phillips triangular socket has already snapped from incorrect fitting, but it's so well made that it won't leak, so I'll keep going until I need a new one. This is definitely for the smaller Beetle, not my 2000. The correct part is 1J0 121 407F which is WRONG one of the pages where Revain marked…
