Solid replacement: Boot Sets

Fits just right. It looks like a good durable rubber silicone material for boots. Let's see if it holds up over time. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars are the supplied metal straps. MUST have a special tensioning and crimping tool not listed in the description.

It was easy to install after I removed CV axle

It was easy to install after I removed the CV axle. Used to replace the liner on a 2005 Ford Ranger (Europe) XL. Seems flimsy and flexible but I expect it to hold up well as long as no sharp objects get in and pierce it. The included lube was enough for a sheath, and the straps curled easily. down with pliers. The size was correct. didn't have to be cut.

Not suitable for Nissan Murano 2006 front left inside!

If you use the vehicle selector to check if this fits you will see that it fits a 2006 Nissan Murano, front left inside. That's definitely not true. I found this with a completely disassembled axle. Only a dealer can get an internal trunk for this car, and a new axle is only $80, which is why I chose this route since the car has 350,000 miles.

Universal cover, used for 63 Valiant

I used this generic silicone boot to replace an old, rotten rubber boot on the ball joint drive shaft in my 1963 Plymouth Valiant. Worked great! This case will stretch slightly so you can thread it through the case (lube it so you don't tear it) without pushing out the center pin. Just make sure you first cut off the two large mounting rings on the case with a sharp pair of scissors. Much cheaper than reproduction boots and should last longer as they are silicone. I am very satisfied with this…

Good shoe, terrible set.

The material of the boot feels durable and flexible. But there is no small collar for the shank, 2 large ones were sent instead. And very little fat, since that's half the fat needed to fill that joint. Really baffled why they sent two large clamps and not a small clamp for the end of the shaft. I'll either have to work hard to make that second big one the right size. Or buy another one and think I have a full set. I'm pretty sick of parts dealers pulling BS like that. Also, that's seriously a…

Boot 12,000 ligs (currently)

Subaru made the unfortunate decision to use butyl rubber boots on the CV joints and as the front inner boots are close to the exhaust pipe they don't last long. The second time I had to replace the driver's side I was looking for a silicone rubber boot. This one worked well and I will use it on the other side if the spare butyl rubber boot fails again. The steel clips weren't very strong, so I replaced them with heavier ones from the auto parts store (if I had thought faster I could have reused

I originally bought this from Revain. Read the entire review. I recommend them. Now they are on my car and working. I installed them with a Dorman air-powered installation tool. I just had to replace the outer CV boots on both sides of my 2010 Toyota Corolla. I was given the wrong part number. I ended up buying them at an AutoZone store in another county (long drive)* Not only were they the wrong size, one of the boxes was missing two straps.* Not only were the straps missing, they required a…
