Spray the nuts the night before!

Perfect for my old 2000 Elantra. The old one is cracked, but this one fits and works better than the original. 5 year guarantee, what can you do wrong. Make sure you spray the nuts onto the old Kroil spreader the night before so they come loose with little effort. And take your time so as not to break the hairpin in your head.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Periodicity

I bought this cat combo 3 years ago. I screwed up a cat combo and had to get another one, but I figured out why. On my 01 elantra there is another cat behind this cat. If you have trouble passing the inspection or losing power, you'd better check if another one is connected. Mine was almost completely clogged with debris from two other out-of-service cats. I bought the car knowing the ignition coil had failed and fried the original. At first I didn't think to see if there was another cat. You…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Upgradable

This is my first time buying a CAT so I don't know if the internals are made of the right materials to skip emissions (the reason I bought it). The construction of the product is dense, durable steel and looks well polished and finished. All flange holes are in good condition. The upper and lower assembly are separate parts and did NOT come with connecting bolts as shown in the picture (original on my machine is a single assembly). Top flange gasket NOT included. The bottom flange bolts were…

Pros
  • Durable Test Results
Cons
  • old

The engine is now pleasant and quiet. Rather than attempt to install it myself I paid my local muffler shop to install it along with a Magnaflow rear converter and my old 2003 machine is much quieter and seems to run much smoother now. After pulling out the rear catalytic converter, he illuminated it and almost nothing could be seen. With the new Magnaflow catalyst you could see a lot of light shining through the honeycomb catalyst. Now I don't have to wrap tape around an illuminated Check…

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • A little serviceability

Overview of Doeman 674-551 Exhaust Manifold Converter Combo

The Dorman 674-551 exhaust manifold simply bolts directly to the engine head. My problem started when trying to hook up the exhaust pipe to a new catalytic converter. The right angle curve just below the new header/converter combination was different from the original equipment. The flange of the new catalytic converter did not match the original flange of the rest of the exhaust system. I had to remove the fixed bracket just below the engine to rotate the original flange to match the flange on

  • Certified
Cons

Not perfect but good for the price

674-551 should fit the Hyundai Beta 1.8 liter DOHC 4 cylinder engine commonly found in the Tiburon and Elantra. I have a 2000 Hyundai Tiburon 1.8L. Compared to the storage unit, these are two pieces instead of one. I see that as a plus as my original material tore in the weld between the pre-coil and manifold section when I hit the mother of all New York potholes (yes the bottom of the build touched the bottom!). So I looked for a replacement. A standard Hyundai from a dealership can be bought…

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Flaws
