Dorman 902-033 Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing Assembly

These parts replace the plastic thermostat housing for 1.8L Sonic and 2014 Chevy Cruze, I have used OEM plastic 2 times and kept leaking coolant until I found out that this aluminum Dorman body did the "no more leaks" trick, Dorman has done it again

Pros
  • Upgraded Replacement - This integrated coolant thermostat housing is metal for longer life
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Perfect fit for 2009 Chevrolet Sonic 1.8L

Perfect fit. Much better than the original plastic. I recommend ordering a metal coolant line that runs under the exhaust manifold. This is called the oil cooler line. There is a seal on this line and this part is cheap. Hence my leak. However, I'm glad I put on this case.

Pros
  • Ensure this part fits your car by entering the make, model and trim level into Amazon Garage.
Cons
  • Clarity

Production stopped!

At first glance this product looks 100% better than the factory. It turned out to be an old and newlywed throttle body hose. I replaced it, started the car until warm and noticed coolant leaking from under the thermostat housing. It's too late to return now!

Pros
  • Fail Safe Design - Improved to prevent factory cracking Small diameter tubing and shallow seal groove
Cons
  • Nothing here

Poor workmanship

This would be perfect if the finish was up to standards. The hose connecting the thermostat to the throttle body has the smallest seam where I assume they are welded. We make a leak. No, the leak is not coming from the hose. If you look at the hose you can see that it is pouring out of the seams of the pipe. Part was fitted and all work done just to get to this problem. What an extreme waste of time and money. Find a sealer that will ban him for now. Beware of going this route.

Pros
  • Complete overhaul - comes with thermostat housing, sensor, thermostat, gasket and o-ring
Cons
  • Big and bulky
