Dorman 911 202 Purge Valve Review

Works as it should. Was a quick easy replacement to turn off the mil light. This is an easy craft for most people. If you need to replace the code for this, do yourself a favor and give it a try.

Appears to work well. I put it on an 02 PT Cruiser and it smoothed out the idle and also fixed the engine light. I had 2 codes: P0442 and P0456. I've only driven it about 12 miles in the last week since putting it on and still no engine fire!

After looking for a small evaporator leak I came across this part which was suggested and tested as the culprit bought it by running a diagnostic procedure, installed it on an old Dodge piston and the check engine light went out well at least a month had passed.

Bought to replace the factory unit as I had a check engine light. I installed it and the light stayed on. I ended up having to buy OEM as it's a cheap Chinese imitation. Do yourself a favor and choose OEM when it comes to auto parts. The OEM flush valve is supposed to be directional, but this one isn't.

I've waited months to post this review because I wanted to make sure this part would actually fix my check engine light issue. My 2003 Dodge Ram 5.7L Hemi was throwing code P0441 almost monthly. After installing this canister purge valve, the check engine light has not come on since. The part was very easy to install and took about five minutes.

Failed a week later. Initially solved code and self-test passed. Has taken the car for several 3 hour drive cycles and the codes have not set. Started the car today and boom, check engine light with the same code. I am waiting for a replacement but if this one fails I will use a different brand. On the other hand, Chrysler Corp cars are junk and will kill you with all the little things that fail. Sometimes even without waiting for the end of the guarantee.

If you look at this part, you most likely have problems filling the gas tank and have come to the conclusion that this particular part needs to be replaced. Well you can be right or you can be wrong. In my case, it wasn't the part that needed replacing, but the Leak Detection Pump (LDP) under the car that was to blame.
