Makes a clicking noise

I bought 2 of these to use in my 1999 MX-5 and they work great at first, but after a few months they start to make a frequent clicking noise when I hit the accelerator press. Very annoying.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

OE quality replacement - perfect for my 2005 RX8

Works as it should - my CEL was repaired and my RX8 purrs like new. Other reviews mention the durability of the part - we'll update the review if it doesn't hold up. I have used other Dorman products to repair my RX8 with great success.

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • weak

Makes a loud ticking sound.

This is the second one I got for my wife's van because the first one started making a loud ticking noise so I took it out before it exploded. 2 weeks after installation it intermittently started doing the same thing so that will be removed too. It does what it's supposed to do, I don't get any error codes and the van runs great, but the ticking isn't normal.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Compatibility

In a 2003 Mazda6 2.4 I replaced this valve after the engine light showed OBD2 codes p0443 (flush valve problem) and p0441 (vapor system problem). The product corresponds exactly to the original and works flawlessly for up to 2 weeks. The engine light never comes back. This valve typically fails after 100,000 miles so is a good replacement.

Pros
  • Great Design
Cons
  • Modern

Almost a year has passed and it's still working

I bought and installed it in October 2014 and since September 2015 it's still working. The store wanted to charge over $200 for repairs (using their part and labor). I was able to change it in 15 minutes as I'm a complete noob with no experience. It's worth it. Edit: Around July 2016 I got the same problem. Looks like we can expect a little less than two years from this part. I will order another one but deducted a star because it doesn't live up to the claim that it will be strong for "yearsโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Good product for its price
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Worked as advertised for a while and then died a slow death.

This was installed on a 2003 Mazda Protege5 that had lag, stall and low fuel issues. Installation was pretty easy, along with the canister vent solenoid, which I also replaced. Together they fixed a gas leak that was causing problems and also saved me a lot of money compared to the ridiculously high prices at local repair shops. . The car started normally, but then the engine suddenly died and inexplicably cut out at every traffic light and at every distance from the house. To make mattersโ€ฆ

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
