Good product, works

Good product, works. I had to change the cable a bit (where the cable attaches to the hood latch) as it was too loose and kept popping out of the hood latch mechanism. I got it working but it didn't fit properly on my 1997 F350.

Pros
  • Makes you happy
Cons
  • Almost everything is ok

Just like OEM - Cable

Perfect replacement. Received in three days. Difficult to install but doable if you follow the procedures on the blogs. Be careful not to pinch or pinch the cable as this caused my original cable to fail on some body work a few years ago.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly

Well made and well assembled.

Easy direct replacement - no need to reposition latch. Perfect fit for my 1992 F150. Placing the bootloader in the firewall is inappropriate due to limited space, but it's not the product's fault. Once inside, it moves freely without resistance. I've had a truck for 8 years and still didn't realize how easy it was to open the hood.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Some issues

Looks like the original.

Looks like a genuine part. I believe it will/will work. I just didn't replace the old one with the new one. When the native part broke I had to make emergency repairs and shorten the cable by twisting the end right in the grid. When I made a loop at the end, I used an electric clamp to crimp the loop and use it as a handle.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Disappears
