It works great but with a bit of trimming

I bought this for my 2005 Chevy Avalanche and it works great but the base is too big so it comes out of the plastic cover, but it's easy to fix I used my step drill and widened the hole and now it fits perfectly

Pros
  • Shipping was very quick
Cons
  • I will add it later

Great time and headache saver.

Our 05' GMC Sierra lost its antennas in the car wash. This little adapter saved hours by not having to reroute the cable. It didn't take ten minutes, but that's included. There is rubber insulation around the OEM base that must be removed before installing the adapter. We have found that rolling the rubber isolator is easier than trying to cut it.

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Fits perfectly on my 2006 GMC Yukon Denali SUV

Easy install with instructions included. Be sure to file the broken end of the antenna first, then apply some dielectric grease to the end to make good contact. You can reuse the old rubber boot to cover the top. Remember to apply anti-seize compound to the threads to reduce corrosion. Lastly, you need to expand the plastic cover for the antenna hole. This can be done with a rounded file or a Dremel tool.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Expensive

Very easy replacement compared to removing the antenna assembly

I found this kit while looking for parts to replace the entire antenna assembly. Seems like a great alternative. However, I will say that you may need some penetrating oil to get rid of the old dried black rubber isolators. Mine was fully captured by part of my 2001 Silverado's antenna. It took over an hour to chop, clean, scrape and sand. I think the oil may have helped loosen it up so it can be taken off in one piece. Once I removed it, the repair kit snapped into place and I was able to…

  • Alright!
