What a pain to install. pair found.

How difficult to install. I found a few videos on YouTube that were priceless. I learned a few tricks after the first one took 4 hours. The second installed in less than 1.5 hours.

Pros
  • Electric door lock
Cons
  • Difficult to say

In a few years it will fail.

Worked great until three days ago, now the door won't open and you have to pull the outside handle twice to open the door all the way. You don't have to switch as often. We don't even use the back doors that much. The passenger side from the same manufacturer is also installed, curious if it will fail soon.

Pros
  • Spare parts
Cons
  • High price

My door lock on my 2008 Malibu works great now.

It was really painful to open the doors when the locks accidentally failed. Especially with a car seat in the back seat. I replaced both rear locks with Dorman actuators. I found some good videos on the internet. I needed about an hour and a half for the first castle and only about 45 minutes for the second. In the near future I will exchange both front locks. If I do this I will be using Dorman actuators.

Pros
  • Automotive
Cons
  • Some errors
