Terrible Ignition Product - Stay Away!

My analysis of this automotive ignition part revealed shoddy manufacturing and poor quality control. The cons of this part definitely outweigh the one pro of it being inexpensive. Buyers beware, this replacement part is not worth the hassle and will likely cause more problems than it solves. Consider other options before purchasing.

Pros
  • Easy to install and use
Cons
  • May require frequent maintenance

It fits 1990 Ford Ranger

I rarely write reviews but I had to on this purchase. The 30 year old truck The Bucket took about 10 minutes to remove and install the ignition cylinder. It took an extra minute to hook up the door/ignition buzzer wires. Voila, you're done.

Pros
  • Direct Replacement - This ignition lock cylinder matches the fit and function of the OE assembly of certain years, makes and models
Cons
  • Very Expensive

Just like the OEM on ignition parts

It was as easy as it should be. It took longer to remove all the plastic from the column. The funny thing is my original 1987 key is so worn out that it actually works great in the new ignition so I have 3 keys now. And the black finish looks great.

Pros
  • Reliable quality backed by a team of engineers and inspectors in the USA
Cons
  • Something different
