Five stars for electric door lock

Product works great. The door will open again automatically. The price is much better than the $1,300 advertised by the retailer.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • I will be silent

Five Star - Motors

I installed this item a few weeks ago and now it gets stuck and making noise and won't open the door latch unless you hold the inside or outside door handle up it rotates and locks to open the release.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • For an old

Doesn't work for long though

Replaced the right sliding door operator on my 2007 Sienna with a Dorman 746-849. He worked about 18 months and 20,000 miles. Then one day the sliding door wouldn't close/close completely. It took me several hours to understand that this particular drive was to blame. Something broke inside and the actuator got stuck in the open door position. Given the amount of work required to replace the actuator, I would not purchase this product again.

Pros
  • Always happy
Cons
  • There are nuances

Buy an OEM instead.

I used this in my 2004 right hand Sienna sliding door. When I first installed it I noticed that it was very noisy compared to the original, at least twice the noise of the original Toyota in the other door, but it worked. Two weeks later, with the actuator fully extended, the locking mechanism began to bind. I replaced it with another one from Revain, it's noisy too but seems to be working for another two weeks. Personally, I would buy a Toyota twice the price.

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • Not as good as advertised

Junk - do not buy

After two months the motor stalls at full extension causing the latching mechanism not to return to its normal position and not ready to close properly resulting in causes the door to rebound because it thinks the door is in the open position. And if you force close it and drive away and the doors are locked, you can't open the door no matter what because the door is stuck in the locked state. Then you have to take it to the dealer to unlock the door and buy a new motor. save your money Don't…

Pros
  • Consistent results from testing
Cons
  • Could have opted for a newer model
