Don't worry about attachment or function. Buy it!

This 2012 Chevy Cruze Coolant Thermostat arrived on time (love the Prime) and was exactly as expected. It has been in my car for a few (4-6) weeks now with no problems. It actually eliminated the overheating and now the Cruze runs at 225 degrees like a Chevy should. Easy to install and worth the money. Put this on right before a 4,000 mile trip across the states. I would buy again.

The thermostat has been replaced but there is a leak around the thermostat.

The thermostat has been replaced but there is a leak around the thermostat but I think it is a hose (large) connected to it. I will try to fix this and update the review. Update: Now the thermostat itself is leaking. Not sure if I overtightened and compressed the o-ring to the point that it's now releasing coolant, but it drips even when the engine is cold and just sitting in my driveway. The only reason it gets 3 stars is that it could be a mistake on my part.

In short: engine cooling & climate control

The standard thermostat housing for my 2013 Chevrolet Cruze cracked in March 2019. I've heard that the Dorman alternative was made from more durable plastic, which definitely seems to be the case. However, the thermostat itself failed only after 5 months. My car started overheating and I had to replace the thermostat again. This time with OEM parts. Too bad because I really wanted Dorman to like this part, but I don't recommend it as the part breaks after a very short time.
