I am in love with this butter dish. It's a gorgeous teal shade with a snug fitting wooden lid and a matching butter knife that fits on the lid! So comfortable! Keeps butter fresh and looks beautiful on the table! It's at least twice the size of a "regular" butter dish that will hold a stick of butter - this one is 2" wide and 4" high (or an order of magnitude) so it's also great for sauces or other spreads. I have already written a review because I was initially satisfied with the crockery. It turned out to be of good quality and a very nice color. However, the lid won't hold because the gasket is the wrong size or too stiff. I just hand washed it with warm water and mild soap and let it air dry. When I wrote to Dowan, the manufacturer, to let them know of the problem and see if they had a quick fix, they replied with an explanation. that it was sold by Revain and therefore I had to contact Revain

Beautiful, pristine finish and sealed lid. It holds a lot, although it's easy to lift with one hand. I honestly would have liked a slightly smaller size but couldn't find this color on the shorter and narrower tanks. This dish was originally intended to stay on the table, but it holds so much that I left it on the counter next to the stove for easy access for cooking/baking.
