The reels are of excellent quality. Poor quality screws.

The casters themselves are strong and well made. However, fastening screws are problematic. These are Phillips head screws made out of very soft metal. After the screwdriver bit pops out of the screw the first few times, the head of the screw will go hollow, preventing further screwing in and out of the screw. Save yourself the headache and buy some good quality stainless steel screws before you start the installation.

Pros
  • Stepped casters make it quick and easy to lift and move the tabletop
Cons
  • The list will go on.

They kind of suck. on casters

I placed them on a stand I made for my DW735 thicknesser (about 100 pounds). I don't use a planer that often, but when I do I usually cut a lot of material and want to avoid traditional rollers as they tend to wobble as the material is fed. They are good in the side position. but with them, even the tiniest shavings on my slick concrete floor can wreck a wheel. The geometry just doesn't feel right as the misalignment of the reel puts the lever in a very dangerous situation as the reel spins…

Pros
  • Easy to install with detailed instructions
Cons
  • Base required

Drill pilot holes for screws

I bought these to mount on a workbench that I need to move around my basement workshop from time to time. Since other reviewers said the screws were of poor quality, I took great care in installing the casters. However, I had no problems with the screws. The main thing I did was drill the guide holes for the screws. I then used a hand screwdriver to screw them in place instead of a Phillips drill. I think it made a big difference. I used my own wrench, not the one that came with it, to install…

Pros
  • Heavy duty steel construction, heavy duty wheel casters 600lb capacity
Cons
  • Useless features
