Not for wood on Electric Rotary Tools Parts and Accessories

Not a fan of this. I was hoping to use it to sand a gap but the petals are too hard. This causes it to cut into the wood quite badly. This wood is better for metal projects

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Quality

It does what it was designed to do

This item is suitable when the operator touches the tool lightly. Flaps are very stiff, so any attempt to force a wheel into a tight space will result in damage to the surrounding material. It should NOT be used on old or very dry wood.

Bought on the recommendation of my sons. He used it for.

I bought this on my son's recommendation. He used it to remove rust from a bike frame that he was going to repaint. I used the wider version to redesign a metal candle holder with lots of curves and then finished it off with EZ Lock polishing pads.

Pros
  • A good product for its price
Cons
  • Negative is present

Exactly as advertised

I bought this rim to remove the clear coat from the rim. It worked as well as you might expect since it wasn't designed for this application. I can't say anything bad about him, he does what he's supposed to do. I found it a little pricey but couldn't find it cheaper so I have to be.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Expensive

Perfect for sanding small edges

I recently used a flap wheel sander to remove stains from some of the thin edges of a wooden dresser and was very pleased with the result. The paddle wheel is stiff enough to sand away a stain but thin enough not to cut into wood (although it can dig a little if you push it over the edge). The sanded finish is surprisingly durable. A flywheel goes a long way before it needs to be replaced. I think this is a great addition to any sanding arsenal.
