Dritz pliers work well with Dritz snaps and not others

UPDATE: These pliers work great with Dritz snaps. I used a different brand at first and had trouble getting this tool to line up the latches properly. Spent a lot of shots in the process. After I changed the images it was very easy. Cons: One of the plastic inserts broke, no replacement. I didn't see any other brands on sale so I had to buy another pair to complete my project.

Satisfied shopper at Power & Hand Tools

From all the negative reviews I was hesitant to buy them but I'm glad I gave them a chance. I'm more familiar with plastic snaps and KAM pliers, but I needed metal snaps for a few other uses. I figured I'd only give the syringes $25 if they didn't work. But they work great! I don't know why anyone has trouble with this. They work very well and I've had no problems with the clasps detaching from the fabric. I'm glad I bought them!

Good work. Mom is a customer.

My mother, who is in her 80's, has been sewing since she was 13 years old. My wife wanted a dress with buttons and my mother had never worn one. But we still decided to order them, and everything turned out. So much so that my mom wondered why she had never used them before. But now she's a buyer. It didn't really take a lot of pressure to button up clothes or fabrics. But make sure you press it firmly so the metal doesn't flex on the buttons to hold it in place.

Plastic holders don't hold the fasteners well

I had to buy another one as there are no replacement parts. The metal latches are loose and easily fall out when inserted into the plastic holder. Thus, the latches can be easily released when using the tool. When this happens, the latch will break the plastic retainers that should hold the latches securely. The plastic part broke when releasing the latch and there are NO replacement parts, even on the Dritz side. This works as intended as long as each piece stays in place. But that's not the…

Fixing with ring prongs is not possible.

This product is a modern, cheaper modification of the grey/yellow Dritz pliers you see in most video tutorials. Instead of a sturdy flexible sleeve to accept a 16-bar or bead clasp, this model has a plastic version with three plastic arms that essentially form torsion springs. This design is TERRIBLE. Dritz posted a video of a beautifully manicured woman quickly inserting a pin into a bar. This does not reflect reality. I've hurt both thumbs, crushed very short nails which is tricky and I only…

Works with upholstery leather!

I bought this to attach some metal buttons to a cosplay faux leather I was working on. Everyone appreciates this brand so I had high hopes for this product. It was a little strange to understand (but maybe it was just that I was in a hurry to finish). I set up the tool as shown in the instructions and prayed, not sure if it would penetrate fabric as thick as leather upholstery, but to my great surprise it did! I had to squeeze it hard to make sure it went through properly, but for the most part

There's a bit of a learning curve, but I wish I'd bought it sooner.

This isn't the most intuitive point-and-shoot mechanism imaginable. However, the instructions are detailed and good, and if you follow them methodically, you'll get good results every time, which is surprisingly convenient and enjoyable. Work slowly the first few times you use it; You will make it faster very quickly. I *can* sew, but I rarely get that far, so things that need fixing or tweaking lie around forever, looking sadly at me from every corner I put them in. contain everything that…
