Description of πŸ“¦ Dritz 3231 1.5-Inch Hexagon Paper Piecing Shapes - Pack of 100

No sewing machine required for piecing. Fabric is folded over paper shapes and secured with basting stitches. Pieces are then joined together by whip stitching edges together to form larger shapes. Basting stitches and paper pieces are removed once shapes are sewn together. 100 CT, 1-1/2" Hexagon Shape

It's nowhere two inches

I don't understand where the 2 inch thing came from. The measurement from the flat side to the straight line opposite is 2 9/16". The distance from the tip to the opposite spot is 2 3/4". So how do you measure it? When you cut the fabric for this paper, is it will be 3 1/ 16 with 1/4" allowance on each side.

Pros
  • Basting stitches and pieces of paper removed after shapes are sewn together
Cons
  • New competitors have emerged

The 2 inch size is not specific enough on the packaging

They are much larger than I expected. My fault but I would assume the packaging would clearly state where exactly the 2 inch size came from. I've found that some companies measure one flat side, others measure across the entire shape from flat side to flat side, and some measure point by point across the entire shape.

Precisely. - Templates and templates

They are strong enough to be used multiple times to hand sew the top of a quilt. I want to spend my time sewing, not cutting scraps of paper. I like the smooth, even edge of each hexagon, and I don't have any "creases" because they're cardboard. Fragile, thin paper can result in puffy hexagons. I use tweezers to remove the papers and they are ready for another piece of fabric.

Cons
  • small pieces

Very easy to use on templates

Consistency and just the right stiffness. The glue holds well, but they come out easily. Perfect. I'm ordering more.ETA: I've also ordered paper pieces from another company called Paper Pieces. I'll stay with Dritz! My only issue with the Dritz brand is that Revain does not currently offer (or can't find) diamonds of appropriate sizes that fit 1.5" hex. I ordered from another company to get matching diamonds. Not happy with them. I can cut the best diamonds from hexies. I didn't really…
