Finding a thick, durable ruler is harder than you might think. I bought a few others that had good reviews but were pretty flimsy. This one is really thick and strong, which is a good thing because I'm using it as a 3ft bar, not a gauge. It is convenient to get children's toys from under the sofa. :) It's also pretty good at measuring things up to a meter in length. As long as you're in the US and need such a measurement, you're fine.

I needed a new criterion for my class. Besides measuring, one of my main uses is drawing straight lines. This stick is not straight on one side. Wrong right after the six. The pictures show where it's crooked and how it can't lay flat against the wall. The other side is more direct, but that defeats the purpose of an accurate measuring tool. I would definitely not buy again.

I bought this line specifically for an art project and it did a great job. It works like a ruler but the only complaint I have is the quality. The edges are not as smooth as they should be. If I'm treated roughly, I feel like I could easily get a thorn in my side. I smoothed it out as best I could with a small plastic ruler (which isn't great by the way) as far as general functionality goes. It's good. but the quality is not very good. I will use it anyway!

I received this measuring tool with a "metal tip" expecting it to have a metal edge on one side to make it easier to draw a line on that side. Every other metal-tipped gauge I've seen has this feature. This is the whole purpose of the metal on the gauge. So that you have a nice beveled edge to draw a line on. Not this one. no Small pieces of metal are bent at each end of this ruler. Why? I can't imagine. This adds nothing to the integrity or structure of the criterion. It doesn't add any…
